Hamburger SV extends its run in the Germany Cup and remains alive to fight another day. Though HSV is one of the current doormats of the 1.Bundesliga, it is a surprising 3rd place in the BFB Pokal. The team beat Regionalliga(4th tier) powerhouse Eintracht Trier. Although the home team scored early(8th min) HSV was able to hold the opponent scoreless after that. HSV finally scored early in the 2nd half(63rd min). Regulation time ended with the score tied 1-1.

Extra time was given and the battle begun anew. Finally with both teams obviously tiring HSV struck at a late 111min. A win and another chance to continue on. HSV makes it to the 3rd round.
Kevin Ingreso was not in the game roster yet he remains part of the 1st team.
Next fixture: Oct 31 2011 a home game against Kaiserslautern, currently in 11th place.
