MATCH REPORT: Roland Müller/MSV Duisburg/2.Bundesliga, Germany(2nd Tier)

The Zebras played a 2nd round DFB Pokal match against Holstein Kiel, a Regionalliga Nord(4th tier) team, and promptly loses the game. Holstein Kiel, the top team in their division handed out an upset, 0 to 2 to the Rolands' visiting team.

From what commentators were saying about the match, HK the home team, played like they were not impressed with the Zebras,' a 2.Bundesliga team and a finalist in last years DFB Pokal. Throughout the first half a stalemate was the best the Zebras' could come up with as HK, the lower ranked team, gained confidence that it could play against the visiting team.

In second half, the "Storks" struck quickly. A goal in the 54th and 59th minute destroyed any will left with the Zebras'. Final score and a huge upset in the DFB Pokal competition, 0-2 for the home team, Holstein Kiel.

In an interview, MSV coach Milan Sasic bemoaned the fact that his team, once behind in goals, lacked the "cleverness" to dig itself out to tie or win the game.

MSV Duisburg is currently 14th in the 18 team 2.Bundesliga.

Roland Müller remains Duisburgs' 3rd string GK.

Next fixture: Oct 30 2011 a home game against 1860 München, currently in 9th place.
