MATCH REPORT: Oliver Pötschke/BFC Preussen Berlin/Berlinliga, Germany(6th Tier)

Oct 29 2011  VSG Altglienicke  2-2  BFC Preussen Berlin

An incredible game! BFC Preussen coming from the depths of their league plays the number 1 ranked team to a tie! After a great win a few days ago OP's team continues its rise from the bottom by tying a game against the powerful home team. Allowing a goal in the first minute and down 0-2 at the end of the half, the beleaguered BFC defense tightened their formation and held the home team goalless for the second half.

A pair of quick goals in the 70th and 74th minute insured the tie, though VSG Altglienicke continued its relentless attack. In the end, the score would hold and the worst defense in the league proved itself for another game.

BFC Preussen earns a point and continues its slow but relentless crawl away from the relegation zone. The team is now 14th in the 19 team league.

Thought OP's team shares the second place for goals scored in the league, it is also the worse in goals allowed with 34 in 13 games. In comparison the home team and current 1st placer it beat today has only allowed 13 in 12 league games.

Oliver is again part of the playing rotation. He came in at the 68th minute.

Trivia: 3 seasons ago BFC Preussen was in the Oberliga Nord, the 5th tier in the German League system. Last season Oliver had a total of 3 goals playing as a midfielder.

Next fixture: Nov 13 2011 an away game against TSV Rudow 88, currently in  16th place.
