JEFFREY CHRISTIAENS back on the pitch for KM Torhout!

SEAG
MATCH REPORT: Jeffrey Christiaens/KM Torhout/Third Division League, Group A, Belgium(3rd tier)

Feb 19 2012 Heppignies-Lambusart  2-2  Torhout

Jeffrey Christiaens back on the pitch for KM Torhout and helps the team to a mild upset. The 5th ranked home team had no less than 5 former Pro League(1st Div) veterans in its roster. No doubt it was a daunting task for Torhout who was the opposite of the opponent as they sat close to the relegation zone. Torhout started surprisingly fast as its offense was known more to be lethargic rather than lethal, they managed a score at the 8th minute. A Penalty Goal was awarded at the 28th minute which made the score 0-2 for visiting Torhout. At the same time they gained a man advantage as a second yellow was assessed on an opponent. Unfortunately compared to its offense, Torhouts defense is even worse. They are tied with second to the worst goal allowing team in its league surrendering 46 goals in only 23 games. They quickly surrender a goal 4' later.  The half ended with a 1-2 score for Torhout.

The second half saw Jeffrey Christiaens enter the pitch seemingly recovered from his recent injury. It was give and take for a moment until a corner kick by the home team was finished off by a good header(53'). Game tied at 2-2 even with a man down for Heppignies-Lambusart. Balance was restored a few minutes later but Torhout could not capitalize on its man advantage, on the contrary a mistake by the team captain almost resulted in a goal for HL. Final score 2-2 tie. Torhout being luck to get a point against a very strong opponent.

Torhout is now 14th in the 18 team 3rd division, group A.

Jeffrey slowly returns to form after his leg injury a few weeks ago. He started the second half and finished the match.

Next fixture: Feb 26 2012 an away game against Racing Waragem, currently in 13th place.
