PAUL MULDER'S ADO Den Haag returns to action in the Eredivisie

John Verhoek after scoring the first goal
MATCH REPORT: Paul Mulders/ADO Den Haag/Eredivisie, Netherlands(1st Tier)

ADO Den Haag  3-3  Roda JC

Paul Mulders' ADO Den Haag returns from winter break and plays to a draw against a more powerful team. In front of 13,000 fans in Kyocera stadium, the "Hague" almost pulled in a win.

After coming from a great training camp in Spain, ADO opened the game aggressively which led to a quick goal at the 3rd minute. The goal was made by John Verhoek and assisted by his brother Wesley. The tying goal was scored by the opponent because of a clumsy pass by Wesley towards his defense on the 15th minute, score 1-1. The Haguenaars, with surprising number of chances, led again after a 24' strike, 2-1 for the home team.

The second half began with neither team slowing down. The visitors were resilient tying the score quickly, 2-2 at the 48'. Not to be outdone an empty net goal was made at the 58th minute 3-2 ADO Den Haag. Unfortunately the defense for the home team was not playing as well as the offense. A goal by Roda JC at the 82' tied the game 3-3. ADO had a good chance to win the game at the 88' but it was not to be.

ADO Den Haag outplayed the higher ranked Roda JC yet had to settle for a draw. They lift themselves to the 10th position in the 18 team Eredivisie.

Paul is out with a groin injury. No information on when he will be available again.

Trivia: Paul Mulders has played over 300 professional football games but did not play in the Eredivisie, the premier football league in the Netherlands until just last year.

Next fixture: Jan 29 2012 an away game against NEC, currently in 15th place.
