Jeffrey Christiaens back on the pitch with KM Torhout

MATCH REPORT: Jeffrey Christiaens/KM Torhout/Third Division League, Group A, Belgium(3rd tier)

Jan 15 2012 Torhout  0-3  Oudenaarde

Jeffrey's KM Torhout did not have the answer as they are defeated against Belgian 3rd Division powerhouse OSV Oudenaarde. The history between the 2 clubs have been quite bad for Torhout as it always guaranteed a lot of scoring and always on the side of Oudenaarde. Last seasons fixture between the two was an 8-1 drubbing of Jeffreys team.

The first 30 minutes or so KM Torhout came out flat and thus was made to pay by the visiting team. A 23rd minute goal made the score 0-1 for the visitors. Though Torhout seemed to have awoke from its doldrums a bad play resulted in a penalty goal at the 44th minute, 0-2 for Oudenaarde.

Another bad sequence at the 61st minute saw a Red card for the home team, man advantage for the opponent! Jeffrey Christiaens went in at the 60th minute and immediately made his presence felt. Arguably his teams most promising offensive foray at the 76' almost put Torhout in the goal sheet but it was not to be. A final goal at the 81' minute sealed the win for the visiting Oudenaarde.

Torhout is currently 16th in the 18 team Belgian 3rd Division. With 21 games played Torhout has only scored 22 goals, among the lowest in the league and worst of all, has allowed 43 goals, 3rd worst.

There is a probability that Jeffrey along with 2 other Belgian - Filipino players will come down to the Philippines to either play in an Asian tournament or play in the UFL mid to late February.

Next fixture: Jan 21 2012 a home game against Tournai, currently in 6th place.
