OFF SEASON REPORT: Neil Etheridge, Ray Jónsson, Jerry Lucena, Denis Wolf and Stephan Schröck

Monday night, Neil Etheridge was chosen to start for the Fulham reserve team against the Wolverhampton Wanderers reserve. In what was said to be a very very cold night, the visiting Fulham team scored a 71st minute goal to make it 1-0 for the visitors. The goal scorer was an 18-year-old, Buomesca Tue Na Bangna a former Chelsea youth player who was once a U17 player for Portugal.

Neil will once in a while play for the reserve team. His previous stint with the reserve team was in a 3-0 win against West Brom last December 6th.

Meanwhile in the city of Grindavík, Ray Anthony Pepito Jónsson is involved in a local football tournament. His team Grindavík has so far won the first game and lost the second. No roster report was released in the win(2-1) against ÍBV but he started in the outside midfield position against Stjarnan, a 3-1 loss. Both opponents are Icelandic premier league teams.

Jerry Lucena's AGF Aarhus a few hours ago played a test match against FC Fredericia(1st Div team).  While AGF fielded 3 new players the old standbys where also included in the game roster, Jerry Lucena among them. No official starting XI has been reported at this time.

Jerry Lucena is a consistent starter for AGF. Next match is on Feb 10 against Hjørring a mid level 1st Division club.

Denis Wolf's 1.FC Magdeburg has signed 4 players to help in its floundering season. The much anticipated competition for Denis Wolf's forward position(he is in an Ian Araneta type scoring drought this season) has arrived in the form of a loan from FC Energie Cottbus a 2.Bundesliga team. This 'on loan' player also has had a short stint with Patrick Reichelt's new team TSG Neustrelitz.

Denis will have to fight hard for playing minutes now. Good luck Denis!

Stephan Markus Schröck's SpVgg Greuther Fürth has played a total of four test matches this off season(see the first 2 friendly reports in other posts). the last two are: Jan 25 a 1-0 loss to Salzburg and a Jan 28 win against Sturm Graz. Both are Austrian Bundesliga teams. Neither test match were attended by Stephan because of a foot injury.
