MATCH REPORT: Manny Ott/Ingolstadt II/Regionalliga Sud(south), Germany(4th Tier)

Mar 10 2012  Ingolstadt II  0-1  Eintracht Frankfurt II

Manny Ott's Ingolstadt II hosted a very strong team in Eintracht Frankfurt II. To be fair, it should be noted that the home team did not have its regular starting rotation either because of card troubles or a senior team player getting his match fitness back.

The first half was a tit for tat affair with either team knocking on the door for a goal. All in all the first half saw the home team with only a slight advantage in goal opportunities. The first half ended with a 0-0 score.

The second half saw the visiting team putting more pressure on the home team side. Eventually at the 57' Frankfurt was able to penetrate the hard working defense and score a goal, 0-1 for the visiting team. Despite plenty of time and a furious rally, Ingolstadt could not find the back of the net and the match ended 0-1, a loss for the home team.

Ingolstadt II remains in good shape in the Regionalliga South, as even with this loss, is in 5th place.

Manny Ott, who has 3.5 months left in his contract, is being given an opportunity to prove himself on the pitch by the team. He remains a part of the starting rotation(he was only a part time starter/reliever last year) only being subbed out at the 82nd minute. He also received a yellow card.

Next fixture: Mar 24 2012 a home game against 1860 München II, currently in 15th place.
