JUAN LUIS GUIRADO coming to Philippine shores on Feb 1!!

Jan 2012 pic of Juan Luis Guirado
Its been a boring day today. I just couldn't get myself to write a blog on a few subjects that I've been thinking of, like Jason Sabio suddenly kicking ass with whom ever he seems to play against. Yup, noticed it from the Galaxy game and...

I wanted to write about Angels better play and increased stamina in the last "Azkals United" game(as opposed to his sorry performance with the "Azkals Alyansa"), but no, that's not whats getting my creative juice going(what little I have).

No thats not what I wanna write about right now. I want to write about JUAN LUIS GUIRADO!

First the primer, check out my first blog about Juani here:

Juan Luis Guirado is the 32 yo brother of Angel who has recently received his Philippine passport. I won't bore you with his history but just give a short summary. He has played a large part of his football career playing in the Segunda B league(3rd tier/ Spain). He has recently finished his 2nd season with Racing Lermeño where he has currently scored 2 goals. He IS a starter for the team, and IS a defender who plays in Group 8 of the Tercera Division, and it is not a stretch of the imagination to say that his skill level is around a Carli or Angel level. This bodes well for the center back position which has lost its best member who happens to also be the "Azkals" team Captain, Aly Borromeo. This gives us needed depth, added height and experience with Rob Gier and Juan Luis at CB and adding speedy Jason Sabio as reserve(or starter given his excellent play lately).

2009 with former team Marbella
The former CD Burgos player will be heading to the Philippines on Feb 1 and will fly with the team on Feb 5th to the United Arab Emirates. The teams first training/friendly match will be the next day hence the need for Juani to come to the Philippines to at least get a few practice sessions with the Azkals.

TEAM INFO: On Jan 21 Juani's Racing Lermeño faced his former team CD Burgos. Juani's new team won the match 0-1 but he was not able to play because of suspension from accumulation of too many yellow cards. His last game with the team should be on the 29th against Real Valladolid II, 2nd place in their group.

Racing Lermeño has been climbing the rankings and is now 11th in the 21 team league. Their main problem is a lack luster offense and an average defense.

On a personal note, it seems Juani is also planning to marry long time partner this year.

So that is it, tell them you heard it first from Wiking and welcome to the Philippines Juan Luis Guirado!!
