DENIS WOLF is now a free agent!

Denis Wolf is now a free agent. Following a dismal 2011-2012 season where 1.FC Magdeburg saw themselves in 18th and last place in the Regionalliga Nord(North), management decided to unload almost a dozen players to reduce the teams losses and to begin rebuilding as quickly as possible. The announcement was made(released) about a week ago today.

Denis had an absolutely nightmarish season for Magdeburg. Beginning the season as the incumbent starter in the offense, he only managed a single goal for the team. He played in 27 total matches for the season. Although Magdeburg's dismal season could not be solely pointed at Denis, the team only scored a league low 23 goals in 34 games! While its defense was around the average in the Regionalliga Nord, the 23 goals for the whole team was a perfect recipe for last place. Magdeburg ended the season with a 5 win, 14 draw and 15 loss record.

Despite Denis' struggles he has been a beacon of hope for Philippine soccer fans as he scored on his very first "cap" for the Philippine national team. It was a match played in the Philippines and against SEA powerhouse, Malaysia in February which ended in a 1-1 draw. Wolf also scored in the wildly played and entertaining training match against Al-Ahli, a local club in the UAE.

As for his former team FC Magdeburg, luckily, due to a league wide realignment, 1.FC Magdeburg will escape relegation to the Oberliga(5th tier). The team has one more season to prove they belong in the 4th tier league.

The Oberliga is where current Global FC player Patrick Reichelt, Azkal 2nd choice keeper Roland Muller and promising new Left Back Jeffrey Tumanan plied/plies their trade.

Can you say,  "Welcome to the UFL Denis Wolf?!"
