ROB GIER'S Ascot United takes a win from the last game of the year!

Ben Lyden
MATCH REPORT: Rob Gier/Ascot United/Uhlsport Premier League, United Kingdom(9th tier)

Dec 27 2011 Bracknell Town  2-1  Ascot United
Dec 31 2011 Ascot United  3-2  Henley Town

Rob Gier's struggling Ascot United had mixed results in its last two fixtures for 2011. In perhaps the worst loss so far in the season, the Yellamen lost against 21st and last place team Bracknell town on Dec 27. It must be said though, that Bracknell had recently had a good amount of new players to augment its team during this seasons abysmal campaign.

The New Year match against Henley Town was the last game of the year for Ascot U and it was the first win in 9 tries too. With a handful of new team additions, the Yellamen outscored another Hellenic Premier League minnow Henley Town 3 goals to 2. A brace being scored by new recruit Ben Lyden formerly of South Reading FC. Henley Town was playing with ten men for much of the match as they lost a player through a Red flag at the 3rd minute.

Ascot United is 12th in the 21 team Hellenic Premier League.

Rob Gier is currently recovering from an injury sustained in the LA Galaxy vs Philippine NT exhibition game.

Next fixture: Jan 2 2011 a home game against Binfield, currently in 5th place.
