In the Jan 21 league fixture against Newcastle, the American International Clint Dempsey of Fulham made American soccer history as he became the first American to score a hat trick in the EPL. He scored the 3 goals in a span of 30 minutes! The other two goals were scored via penalty goals. The Whites went on to win the match 5 goals to two.
Meanwhile, Fulham was recently defeated in an FA Cup match by Everton, score, two to one. Though Fulham scored first in the 14' via penalty goal. The offense could not muster anymore goals after. It is interesting to note that Clint Dempsey, fellow American player Landon Donovan, on loan to Everton from the MLS Galaxy and US national team goal keeper Tim Howard(Everton) played against each other with fans and critics saying Donovan out played Fulham's Dempsey.
Fulham is now out of the FA Cup.
