Philippine U23 First win!! Wikings take

XI against Vietnam *

After suffering through two awful defeats, the Philippines finally won one to salvage some ounce of pride. I had to admit I was expecting the worst. After all, Matthew Hartmann, our team Captain put it upon himself to abandon ship before the ship even sank! Though of course I am not privy to the true state of affairs between him and the coaching crew, it still begs the question, why would you leave your team? You are the Captain and as far as I know, the coach did not take it away from him before he left. Another issue was that supposedly one or both of the brothers had their girlfriends stay at the same hotel which was a violation of team policy. One would think a young team like that would just tuck tail and run, or worse have parts of the team siding with the coaches and another with the affected brother/brothers. So this was the situation confronting my young Azkals before the game.

MATCH REPORT: Jerry Lucena/AGF Aarhus/Superliga, Denmark(1st Tier)

pic courtesy of: m.stiften.dk
Nov 8 2011 SønderjyskE  1-1  AGF

It was a minor upset for Jerry Lucenas' AGF when the 9th ranked SønderjyskE forced a draw with them. Though they were playing an away game the obviously more skillful team of Lucenas' struck first in the 16th minute. No team scored in regulation time after this.

In both halves, AGF had plenty of chances when attacking though finishing was not good at all. To be fair, AGF played with no less than 5 players who are coming from injury or have not practice for a time. Perhaps because of this the offense, though aggressive, could not finish with a goal. In injury time SønderjyskE with the home pitch advantage and a little luck scored a very late goal(90+4) to spoil AGF's apparent victory.

Nov 6 2011 AZ  3-0  ADO Den Haag

Paul's ADO Den Haag plays against the very tough first place team, Alkmaar Zaanstreek and looses 3 to 0. AZ scored quickly against ADO's defense when in the 11th minute, they found the back of the net. The first place home team never allowed ADO much chances in offense as ADO or the "Hague" could only manage one really good attempt at goal in the 41st minute.

MATCH REPORT: Jacques Van Bossche/Standaard Wetteren/Second Division League, Belgium(2nd Tier)

JvB in the South East Asian games
Nov 6 2011 Eendracht Aalst  1-0  Standaard Wetteren

There is no end in sight for Standaard Wetteren's futile play as it loses another close game. In a match where SW generally played better than the 6th ranked home team, their ineffective offense was once again the culprit in this disappointing loss. In the last 5 league games, SW has scored a total of only 2 goals.

MATCH REPORT: Dennis Cagara/Lyngby BK/Superliga, Denmark(1st Tier)

Dennis against Singapore
Nov 6 2011 København  3-0  Lyngby

Dennis' 'Royal Blues' took on the best and lost, but they played very well against the home team in the first half. With Lyngbys starting  goal keeper back and a few tweaks with its personnel, Dennis and his team traveled to hostile territory. Surprisingly the team played very well as it blanked the opponent and caused them concern from Lyngby's speedy strikers.
