MATCH REPORT: Neil Etheridge/Fulham FC/Barclay's Premier League, UK(1st Tier)

It could be worse for Fulham, playing against higher ranked teams for its late December games but they manage to earn points against them nonetheless. The Boxing Day match against EPL elite team, Chelsea was a daunting task for the Whites yet as they have shown throughout the season, they can step up against strong competition and have a good showing of it. Despite being down one goal at the beginning of the second half Fulham would quickly tie the game with a 56' strike from American international and ever reliable Fulham scorer, Clint Dempsey. Despite playing in an away game and in front of over 40,000 fans, the Whites held on for the satisfying draw.
The New Years eve match against a higher ranked Norwich City team was another difficult away game for Fulham. With the Whites lack of available and reliable strikers, Orlando Sá, a young Portuguese striker was plugged in as a stopgap measure. He quickly proved his worth when he hit the back of the net in the 7th minute. It was his very first goal in a Fulham uniform.
While the win was almost assured, it was not to be when at the 93rd minute Norwich managed to strike a tying goal. Though the game was a disappointment to the team, they went home knowing in two consecutive away games against very good teams, they managed to take home points from the matches.
Despite drawing both late December fixtures, Fulham goes down one rank and is now 14th in the 20 team English Premier League.
Neil Etheridge remains the number 2 goal keeper for Fulham.
Next fixture: Jan 3 2012 a home game against Arsenal, currently in 4th place.
