2012-2013 Season Report
Dennis Cagara/Karlsruher SC/3.Liga/Germany(3rd tier)
Things are unfolding very quickly for Dennis Cagara and his recently relegated club Karlsruher SC. Before the season, hope were high with the club of regaining their rightful position in the 2.Bundesliga, Germanys second tier football league.
Dennis Cagara too seemed poised to regain the promises of his youth before injury derailed his career by finally signing the coveted multi year contract. Although he has previously signaled his intent to only sign with a 1st or 2nd tier German club, he nevertheless could not disregard the 2 year contract offered to him(until June 30, 2014) by KSC.
Now the Club has been mired in mediocrity and after 6 league games they are still winless.
21/07/12 (Draw)Heidenheim 2-2 Karlsruher SC - Started, played full 90'
28/07/12 (Draw)Karlsruher SC 0-0 Hallescher FC - DNP, not in game roster.
04/08/12 (Loss)Stuttgart II 2-0 Karlsruher SC - Started, out at 46', Yc at 44'
09/08/12 (Draw)Karlsruher SC 1-1 Osnabrück - DNP, not in game roster.
11/08/12 (Loss)Arminia Bielefeld 1-0 Karlsruher SC - DNP, not in game roster.
25/08/12 (Draw)Karlsruher SC 0-0 Alemannia Aachen - DNP, not in game roster.
In German Cup competition KSC has had more luck. They demolished 1.Bundesliga side Hamburger SV!
19/08/12 German Cup (Win)Karlsruher SC 4-2 Hamburger SV - DNP, not in roster.
Dennis did not suit up in the second game after starting and playing in the first Matchday. There were no reports by the club of any injuries to Dennis. On Matchday 3, Dennis started but was yanked at the half time.
In early August, KSC picked up 5 new players and one, Dennis Kempe, was the coaches replacement for Cagara. Kempe has since played in all the games while Cagara has disappeared.
A spox.com article during KSC's Matchday 1 game against Heidenheim even had Cagara's left side as the "vulnerable" or "weak" side.
One cannot help but draw comparison to Dennis' brief career with FSV Frankfurt where he started out strong but soon was relegated to the sidelines.
Notes:
Since 2010 Dennis has been involved in 4 different clubs, with the 5th(KSC) finally offering him a contract longer than 6 months.
It is too early to tell but if the league ended play today, KSC would again be relegated to the next tier down, the Regionalliga! Their record after 6 games is 0-4-2, with a measly 3 goals scored(2nd to last in the league) and have allowed 6 goals. They are 18th in the 20 team 3.Liga
The 6 goals allowed by the team is actually the 3rd BEST in the league. Clearly defense is the teams strong suit.
KSC is one of two teams in the league without a win.
In a puzzling move by the club, they have just signed more defensive help. Defensive Midfielder to be exact. Dominic Peitz a 2.Bundesliga and Regionalliga veteran from FC Augsburg was given a 2 year contract a few days ago. Didn't management see the 3 goal total in 6 league games at all?

In happier news Kevin Esswein, a Filipino-German youth player of KSC has just been promoted to Karlsruher SC II(youth team) from the U19.
KSC II is an Oberliga Baden-Württemberg(5th tier) team, a similar level to Global FC's Patrick Reichelt's prior team, TSG Neustrelitz.
Kevin did not play in the previous 2 matches but has been in the game roster. Matchday 3 is ongoing at the time of this writing. This left footed attacking midfielder is signed for the club until June 30 2013.
