Angelo Verheye's KAA Gent continues its dominant showing in the Belgian premier league as it crushes Mechelen in a home game. The first half did not begin well for Mechelen as an Own Goal at the 19th minute gave the home team a 1-0 advantage. Though overmatched, Mechelen held on to a 0-1 deficit at the end of the first half.

The second half, started out well for the away team as at the 49th minute a tying goal was had(the assist goes to Taiwan star Xavier Chen). An exchange of goals between Gent(56th) and Mechelen(58th) made the score 2-2. For about ten minutes did Mechelen battle for life until at the 74th minute the deluge began. Goals at the 74th, 79th, 83rd and 90th minute made the score 6-2 for the home team, Gent.
KAA Gent climbs to number two in the Belgian Pro League.
Angelo is a member of the U21/Reserve team. He tried unsuccessfully to get his Philippine passport so he would be able to join the U23 team but he was not able too before the start of the games.
Next fixture: Nov 20 2011 an away game against Kortrijk, currently in 5th place.
